Tattoos have been around for thousands of years. Since humans dawn we have had a drive to adorn our bodies with symbols and art. Ancient humans used charcoal and ash as colour and thorns, sharpened shell and horn as needles. Since then tattooing has evolved into a diverse art appreciated worldwide and and a huge industry.
Here at Barry Louvaine Tattoo we adhere to strict hygiene standards and are health authority registered. We use equipment of the highest quality from reputable manufacturers and suppliers. Where possible we opt for ecologically sustainable and biodegradable supplies and use only vegan inks and sell high quality aftercare products.
We believe in our products and procedures and are available for any advice. We want your tattoo experience be the best it can and the tattoo to heal well.
Adverse reactions to tattoos are relatively uncommon and following aftercare advice a tattoo usually takes 2-4 weeks to heal depending on the individual and position of the tattoo.
Infection is usually mild and can be cleared by careful and consistent washing.
Allergic reaction to ink is also uncommon but like all allergies they are hard to detect. If you are concerned about an allergic reaction or have any experience of skin allergies we can provide a spot test at cost price of £5.
It is however relatively common for some tattoos to raise a little usually when the body is warm
This is nothing to worry about and the tattoo will return to normal usually within a short time.
